My last post...

Okay so here it goes my last ever post on this thing. I've never been one to blog and write down my thoughts but I must admit I've quite enjoyed this. I printed most of my report today, feeling amazing. I'm currently cracking on with my evaluation and executive summary which I'm struggling with. So not a fan of all this writing I just want to make it look pretty. Tomorrow morning I'm going to print the final bits out and get my project bound yippee for Rymans. I can't wait till Friday, get me a drink Bye for now blog xxx

a quick look..

Today i completely finished my range, planogram, floor plan and pricing architecture.. it feels good! Althought the best bit is out of the way now, just loads of boring writing, not my favourite of tasks. I've never done a planogram before at all so im pretty pleased with how mine turned out. Below is my first fashion drop and how it will fit in a store.
So much left to do i'm a little behind as i've been spending so much time on everything, here is my list to complete tonight:
  • Never got chance to finish garment tech the other night make sure that that is complete: write spec on drawing, swatch spec (will have to do this part tomorrow as i do not have photoshop at home), testing. find fabrics and trims to put onto project.
  • write my launch information such as: number of stores, grading, where will be launched date of launch, product in launch.
  • write about price architecture.
If by any chance i finish that list by the end of the evening this also needs to be completed:

  • Sizing chart
  • Trials and repeats
right better get on with it... x

End of week 2, the start of 3

So week 2 didn't really go to plan, i had so much plannign to do for my Tesco assessment centre that i put a little of the work on hold. The assessment was today, i was sooo nervous but i think it went quite well suprisingly. This time next week i will know where i stand and know whether i have managed to get my dream job, too much emotion is running around right now!

Week 3 plan:

  • Research into maternity wear
  • Comp shop - online complete just need to go into store
  • Tesco target customer
  • Market share
  • Pricing architecture - competitors done just need to look at tesco

Week 2 already?!

With week 2 already about to start here is my second list:
  • Research Tesco, the company; their aims, what they already sell
  • Research maternity wear; common shapes, sizing, important information
  • Swot on Tesco
  • Target customer for Tesco
  • Target customer for new maternity range
Along with this i also need to:
  • Make sure merchandising is finished from term 2
  • prepare for Tesco assessment centre

The big idea..

So here is my concept:

'Tesco launches maternity range'

I feel like Tesco have a huge gap in their market for a maternity range as thier main taregt market is between the ages of 25-45 and therefore at peak range for maternity wear. On top of this when on my placement i was told the following statistic 'for every 1 baby born in england 2011 Tesco sold 5 baby grows' Therefore showing that the majority of expecting mums shop in Tesco.

I am so excited to start this project and plan my range, so many things to come..

Planning geek!

I love planning way too much, ive created about three different charts to help me keep on track with my work and stick to what i need to do, here is the basic week- week view. At the end of each week i am going to post my progress so far and a list of things to complete for the following week, hopefully this will make me stay on track and stop the stressing as much!
